Tom Elliott says Victoria’s mask mandates and recommendations are making little sense.

It comes after the state government “encouraged” school students aged eight and over to wear a mask in class, insisting it isn’t a mandate.

“If this wasn’t an election year, it would be compulsory for kids to wear masks at school,” a frank Tom Elliott said on Tuesday.

“I don’t understand.

“You don’t have to wear a mask at the footy, but you do on public transport, you don’t in the office, you don’t at a restaurant – it is just ridiculous.

“I don’t understand the focus on kids wearing masks at school.”
