Tom Elliott shares the ‘dumbest idea’ he’s ever heard

A Californian-based journalist based has offered a radical solution to increasing inequality in his home state.

Ventura County Star columnist Joe Mathews argued only a system where rich parents can’t raise their own children would “achieve true equity”.

Tom Elliott says it’s the dumbest idea he’s ever heard.

“He actually is quite seriously saying, is all children who are born, in California, essentially go into one giant orphanage, and then they would be farmed out to potential parents almost at random.

“But it would be illegal to raise your own child.

“Now this is just one person saying this, it’s just a column he’s written in a small paper in California, but I think it’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.”
