Greens leader Richard Di Natale has “gone too far” linking Australia’s devastating bushfires and recent cyclone in Darwin with the government’s “inaction” on climate change, says Tom Elliott.

In an extraordinary outburst in the senate, Mr Di Natale said Australians were “bearing the brunt” of the government’s “failure” to act.

“It’s ludicrous,” Tom Elliott said.

“Bushfires have been part of this continent for thousands upon thousands of years.”
