The release of the latest crime statistics shows crime is rapidly taking over Victoria, Tom Elliott says.

He says Victoria is fast-becoming the crime capital of Australia. 

And he has three ways to fix it.

‘Parents have to be parents, too many parents want to be friends to their kids and then struggle to put their foot down,’ he said.

‘Secondly, I don’t like the way the kids these days at school call their teachers by their first names.

‘Thirdly, the courts need a going over. The courts often say they reflect community standard, but in my view they do not. If we want young people to respect authority we have to get tough.’
