Tom Elliott has exposed a bizarre ambiguity when it comes to paying rates.

You can’t pay the year’s total all at once, rather in quarterly or almost monthly rates.

And the state government agrees it’s not ideal.

Natalie Hutchins, minister for local government, shared her views on 3AW Drive.

‘I personally think council’s should be offering both quarterly and lump sum payments,’ she said.
