Tom Elliott visits anti-Australia Day council to see if they’re working

Tom Elliott has taken aim at anti-Australia Day councils for not “walking the walk” today.

The 3AW Drive host lives in the City of Yarra – one of several to boycott our national day this year – and went to pay his rates on Friday.

“They don’t believe in the day, so surely they’re working?” the 3AW Drive host asked.

They weren’t.

“If you’re going to talk the talk, then walk the walk,” Tom Elliott said.

“If you want to say we can’t have Australia Day and make a big political statement about it, then have the guts to say ‘we will not take the public holiday’.”
