Tom Elliott warns those with investment properties and holiday homes are in for ‘nasty shock’

Tom Elliott has been flooded with emails from Victorians who’ve been left shocked by soaring land tax bills on their investment properties and holiday homes.

“If you haven’t received it already, in the next day or so, you will get your annual land tax bill from the state government,” the 3AW Drive host said on Friday.

“And judging by the emails we’ve received overnight, well, you’ll get a nasty shock.”

Cath Evans, Victorian Executive Director of the Property Council, said the hikes had come at an “extremely difficult time” for many Victorians.

She said it would almost certainly place further strain on the rental market.
