Tom Elliott has weighed in on the state government announcing a new $15 million sponsorship deal with Visit Victoria for Netball Australia, expressing he has doubts about the deal.

Elliott claims Netball is not watched enough to warrant an expensive sponsorship deal, especially with Victoria being in financial disarray with the state expected to record a $9.7 billion deficit in the 2022-23 financial year.

“So we’ve got a sporting sponsorship that doesn’t seem to make sense, we’ve got a state that is deeply into debt and no one seems to care,” Elliott stated.
