Tom Elliott’s advice to protestors ahead of Thursday’s Palestine demonstration

Tom Elliott says it’s crucial Victorians don’t lose their “fundamental right” to protest, but demonstrations cannot be used to incite violence.

His comments come after Jewish community members wrote to Premier Jacinta Allan, calling for a tougher stance on recent pro-Palestine protests.

Tom said he while didn’t agree with the letter, he stressed it was important Thursday’s upcoming protest is peaceful and doesn’t turn violent.

“By all means have your protest on Thursday but do not act violently,” he said on 3AW Drive.

“We don’t our streets to be like the streets of parts of the Middle East.”
