Tom Elliott’s defence of Bernard Tomic

Tom Elliott has gone into bat for Bernard Tomic.

It follows an interview on Sunday Night, where the Australian tennis star again declared he didn’t “love” the game and only played for money.

It’s led to widespread criticism.

“He doesn’t love his job. So what?” Tom Elliott said.

“I know dozens of people, quite literally, dozens of people who do not like their jobs.

“They stay in them, though, because they’re parents and they have to put food on the table, or pay the mortgage, or pay rent.

“For Bernard Tomic, tennis is his job.

“He was clearly blessed with a lot of ability.

“Despite what many people think, he has actually worked extraordinarily hard.”
