Tom Elliott’s ideas for Jess Wilson to fix Victoria’s ‘appalling’ debt

Tom Elliott has listed several “unpalatable” ideas for new state Liberal leader Jess Wilson to fix Victoria’s “appalling” financial situation.

It comes after Ms Wilson outlined her main priorities following her victory over Brad Battin, with her main priority being to fix the state’s budget, which is nearing $200 billion in debt.

The 3AW Mornings host admitted none of his ideas would win votes, but it’s necessary to reduce the debt in Victoria.

“The list of ideas about how to fix Victoria’s appalling set of finances, none of it is politically palatable, none of it will win votes,” Elliott said.

“Jess Wilson has said that her main priority is getting Victoria’s finances back on track. I’ve looked at it, and looked at it, and looked at it, and I cannot see an easy way to do it.”

“With the program like the one I’ve just identified, Jess Wilson won’t get elected.”
