Tom Elliott has raised a question in response to recent reports of the success of the Allan government’s free weekend public transport initiative.

Press PLAY to hear the question the 3AW Mornings host raised

“Over the past few weeks, the state government has made public transport on weekends free,” the 3AW Mornings host said.

“And guess what? When something is free, it becomes popular.”

Spokesperson with the Public Transport Users’ Association, Daniel Bowen, then weighed in on the success of free public transport on weekends in recent times.

“How much of that is a permanent bump, and how much is it just a sugar hit?” Bowen asked Tom Elliott.
