Former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has addressed his “s**t happens” comment from 2011, which led to one of the more bizarre moments in politics.

Abbott said the comment about an Australian soldier’s death in Afghanistan, with Seven News reporter Mark Riley questioning him on the comment, leaving the former Prime Minister silent for 28 long seconds.

In the latest episode of Neil Mitchell Asks Why, Abbott said the reporter deserved a “punch on the nose”, and also addressed the Hamas attack in Israel and why he suffers from “relevance deprivation”.
