Tony Jones and teacher debate ‘suspicious curriculum day’ before Melbourne Cup

Well, that was a heated way to start Monday!

Tony Jones was the first to admit he was a little suspicious of plenty of schools taking a ‘curriculum day’ the day before Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup holiday.

And it didn’t take long to get a reaction.

Teacher Carol was fuming.

‘It’s just another opportunity to stick the boots in,’ she said on 3AW Mornings.

It led to an interesting exchange.

TJ: ‘You can understand the suspicion, can’t you?’

CAROL: ‘I can’t. I really can’t.’
