Tony Jones blasts Attorney-General over ‘disgraceful’ exchange with reporter
Tony Jones, who is hosting 3AW Mornings over summer, has taken aim at Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus for his exchange with a reporter yesterday.
Mr Dreyfus lost his temper at Sky News reporter Olivia Caisley when she asked if the government owed an apology to the people involved in the reoffending of three people released from immigration detention after the High Court ruled they couldn’t be left in detention indefinitely.
“The only absurd thing there was the Attorney-General’s behaviour — nothing short of disgraceful,” Jones said.

Journalist and colleague of Ms Caisley, Sharri Markson, told Tony Jones Mr Dreyfus’ response was “patronising and … also quite sexist”.
“You wouldn’t think the Attorney-General would be wagging his finger, which is what he was doing, and saying ‘Do not interrupt’ if it was a male journalist,” she said.
