Tony Jones explores whether fitness apps are as effective as personal trainers

People are ditching the gym for the iPad, using online programs to work out at home.

A new study indicates more than half of those surveyed use the internet to improve their fitness.

Deakin Uni’s Jo Salmon told Tony Jones she uses a particular app to keep fit, but urged people to find the one works best for them.

‘The ones that help you find the activities you enjoy and get you regularly active are important,’ she said.

But with over 24,000 fitness apps on the iStore, so finding the right one can be difficult.
