Tony Jones says ‘attention seeking’ Michael Clarke shouldn’t make cricket comeback

Former Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke shouldn’t make a comeback and has been accused of ‘attention seeking’ by Tony Jones.

The sometimes 3AW Mornings host and Channel 9 presenter told Neil Mitchell he was sceptical about Clarke’s return and that it was ‘unfair’ on the current Australian team.

TJ said retired sporting stars often got ‘bored’ after leaving the game and ‘needed to be relevant’ again.

‘Did he not have a good, long hard think about it before he gave it away?’ TJ said on Monday.

‘I think it’s a little unfair for Michael Clarke, in a lot of ways, to cause this disruption.’
