St Kilda residents aren’t happy with their new view of a woman’s derrière promoting an adults-only club.

The poster occupies the side of a small truck, which is parked outside the California Club brothel on busy St Kilda Road near Wellington Street.

It features a large photo of a woman lying on her stomach, wearing only skimpy lingerie.

Drive host Tom Elliott agrees the photo is too explicit.

3AW alerted Consumer Affairs to the billboard, and an investigation is now underway.

3AW has chosen to publish the photo below to allow to give listeners their chance to decide if the photo is too rude for public.

The Sex Work Regulations 2016 include restrictions on advertising for sex work businesses.

All advertising material must contain the letters SWA followed by the business operator’s licence or exemption number. These letters must be clearly legible and printed no smaller than the smallest point type appearing in the advertisement or in a seven-point type, whichever is larger.

Any non-internet advertising for the business that includes a photograph or picture of a person must only show their head and shoulders. The licensee must have the written consent of any person whose image is published in an advertisement for a sex work service provider business.

Consumer Affairs Victoria has become aware of a mobile billboard in St Kilda and is investigating the matter.
