Toorak jewellery store the target of brazen armed robbery
A Toorak jewellery store has been robbed at gunpoint.
Neil Mitchell heard exclusive details of the incident, which happened at IMP Jewellers.
A group stormed the store, armed with a gun, machete and hammer, smashing jewellery cases and demanding the manager open the safe.
He refused.
They fled shortly after.
Neil Mitchell spoke with Dennis Callaway, who owns the store.
‘They (staff) are very distressed,’ he said.
‘We’re all so frustrated and angry.
‘I think people just want the government to take law and order a little more seriously.
‘These kids just don’t care.’
