Top cop blasts ‘scum’ responsible for ‘sickening’ Melton attack

Victoria’s top cop has labelled the thugs responsible for a horrific Melton home invasion as “scum”.

Three men broke into a Melton home on May 26 and punched a 92-year-old man in the face.

“When I was told about it I just couldn’t believe it … These people are scum to do that,” Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Shane Patton told Neil Mitchell.

“They’ve broken in, it looks like they’ve got the wrong place, but then to go on and further assault the male, it’s just totally unnecessary.”
