In the email, Mr Patton highlighted concern about about sexual harassment and predatory behaviour, racism, homophobia, transphobia, family violence, drink driving, drug use and leaking of material from confidential police sources.
Speaking to Neil Mitchell, the Chief Commissioner said there’s been a “slight rise” in disciplinary hearings for Victoria Police employees.
“I’m just not going to turn a blind eye to it and I wanted to make my expectations crystal clear to everyone that most likely, and my expectation is, that you’ll be sacked if you’re engaged in this type of behaviour,” he said.
“We don’t want criminals in here, we don’t want people using drugs.”
Neil Mitchell says the top cop’s comments are “unprecedented”.
“It’s an extraordinary list,” he said. “I can’t remember a chief commissioner doing such a thing.”
