Assistant Commissioner for Road Policing at Victoria Police, Glenn Weir, has detailed the “uplift” in operations to try and reduce the horror road toll in Victoria this year.

The road toll in the state is currently up 21 per cent this year, with Victoria’s top road chiefs having an emergency meeting last Friday to discuss what could be done to reduce the toll.

Mr Weir also said he’ll have something more to say on the Daylesford crash suspect “very soon”.
