Top roads cop ‘gobsmacked’ by drunk driver in Kerang

Top roads cop Glenn Weir says he’s “gobsmacked” a driver opted to get behind the wheel despite being more than six times over the legal alcohol limit.

A Kerang woman was pulled over by police late on Tuesday night, returning a breath test of .306.

Assistant Commissioner Weir said the 37-year-old made a “horrendous” decision.

“I was talking to the superintendent up in Mildura about it and they were about as gobsmacked as we were,” he said on 3AW Drive.

“This is allegedly a mature person who’s made a horrendous decision to drive after having a really big drink.”
