Top roads cop issues warning to ‘reckless’ drivers ahead of Easter long weekend

Victoria’s top roads cop says there’s been “too much trauma” on the roads lately and wants to stamp out “reckless and stupid behaviour” as the Easter long weekend approaches.

Assistant Commissioner for Road Policing Glenn Weir has announced Operation Nexus, which is a process of ramping up police enforcement across the state to help keep drivers safe.

“We know there will be people who take too many risks and do the wrong thing, and we’ll be there to hold them to account,” he told Heidi Murphy, filling in for Dee Dee.
