Tough new restrictions around supplying alcohol to minors apply from today.

Any parent hosting a party for teenagers must get consent from other parents for their child to drink and actively monitor them.

A VicHealth study revealed 60 per cent of parents think other parents shouldn’t ever supply booze to underage teens.

VicHealth’s Maya Rivis says it’s vital families understand the laws.

“Managing alcohol in those situations is really difficult,” she told Ross and John.
