A mother has detailed the upsetting experience when her car was towed at a Melbourne hospital, despite only being three minutes late to leave.

Katie says she was at the hospital, while her husband was having emergency surgery, when the incident occured.

She also says she challenged the fine with evidence of the visit to the hospital.

“Seven weeks later, City of Melbourne Council got back to me and said that they will not refund the money,” she told Jacqui Felgate.

Krystal shared a similar story when a tow truck driver towed her car, despite her getting back to her car two minutes before the cut-off time.

“We said to him ‘Hang on, it’s not even five o’clock yet.’ And he just basically said ‘Too bad’,” she said.
