Australian streets are expected to be inundated with new strains of dangerous synthetic drugs.

Ross and John spoke with Professor Marilyn Huestis, a long-term member of the US National Institute of Drug Abuse.

She says drugs like these are a global issue.

‘They’re always having different effects.’

‘Some destroy the kidneys, some cause seizures and death, some cause heart attacks and cardiovascular problems.’

‘it’s a really serious problem’ – Professor Huestis told 3AW Breakfast.
