Toy stores across Melbourne’s east are upping security as police search for a burglar with a curious obsession with Lego.

Four toy stores have been hit in less than a fortnight.

A Porsche Lego set stolen from Toot Toot Toys in Bentleigh East on January 9, followed by an attempted break in at a store in Cranbourne the following day.

Two trolley loads of lego was also stolen from a store in Wantirna South and then there was an attempted ram raid at Toot Toot Toys on January 12.

Police believe the same offender is responsible for the crime spree and have released images of a man they want to speak to and a white Nissan Navara ute.

The owner of the Bentleigh East store says lego thefts aren’t uncommon and many stores across Melbourne upping security to prevent thefts.
