A tradie has been left bloodied after chasing down several thieves in Melbourne’s south-east in the early hours of Thursday.

Plumber Patrick Reid was attacked with bricks and scissors after chasing down thieves in Notting Hill, with three bandits stealing $20,000 worth of tools.

He told Neil Mitchell why he opted to hunt down the thieves himself after he heard noises outside his property.

“I’ve never experienced (this level of aggressiveness) before,” he said on 3AW Mornings.

“Normal people don’t do these things.”
