Train chaos as fire billows from underneath rail bridge

Multiple train lines have been disrupted after a fire broke out underneath train lines in West Melbourne on Wednesday afternoon.

Multiple callers to 3AW spotted the fire, which began in Rosslyn Street shortly before 3pm.

Joe told Heidi Murphy that police and emergency services were quickly in attendance once the alarm was raised.

“Police just raced to the area,” he told Heidi Murphy.

Fire Rescue Victoria later confirmed that the fire was contained just after 3:30pm.
