Transport Department boss defends timing of major train works
The acting head ot the Department of Transport has defended the decision to have major works on three of the train lines in Melbourne’s west.
Alan Fedda told Heidi Murphy, filling in for Neil Mitchell, now was the best time to do the work.
“Public transport patronage last week was 75 per cent of pre-COVID levels, we know during school holidays that drops even further by about eight or nine per cent,” he said.
