The Andrews Government is today spruiking the benefits of the CityLink Tullamarine widening project, saying inbound travel times from the airport to the CBD have been almost halved.

The trip from Melbourne Airport to the Bolte Bridge has been slashed by on average 13 minutes, the government says.

“Travel times from the airport to the Bolte used to be 30 minutes, now it’s 16 minutes, that’s on average,” Roads Minister Luke Donnellan said.

“That’s been timed between 8-9am.

“What we’re finding is the speeds have increased from 41 to absolute 71 kilometres an hour.”
