Treasurer says Logies’ future in Melbourne is under review

Looks like the Logies are leaving Melbourne.

The Victorian government is reviewing its $1 million sponsorship of the glitzy showbiz event, prompting speculation it could be headed back to Sydney.

And Treasurer Tim Pallas certainly did nothing to quell that speculation while speaking with Neil Mitchell.

But does Melbourne even want it?

Even 3AW Breakfast’s entertainment reporter Pete Ford isn’t so sure.

‘[The Logies are] past their peak anyway … and I don’t think they’re any great showcase for Melbourne,’ he told Ross and John.

‘It’s certainly a good showcase for Crown…’
