Trio charged over attack on an 11-year-old at McDonald’s
Three teenagers arrested over an attack on an 11-year-old boy at the McDonald’s in Truganina this month have also been charged over two violent carjackings.
The boy was assaulted and had his phone stolen by a group of four males at the fast food restaurant at about 7pm on January 8.
The victim’s father located one of the alleged perpetrators and held him until police arrived.
An 18-year-old male from Truganina was subsequently charged with a range of offences including two carjackings – in Truganina and Southbank – in December, as well as robbery, motor vehicle theft, handling stolen goods and breaching a court order.
He was remanded to appear at the Werribee Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
A further two search warrants were executed on 12 and 19 January in Truganina.
A 17-year-old male was charged with aggravated carjacking, theft of motor vehicle and robbery. He was remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
A 19-year-old male was charged with aggravated carjacking and robbery. He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
