Tropical Cyclone Debbie lashes Queensland
Tropical Cyclone Debbie has lashed the north Queensland coast, with winds reaching speeds of more than 250km/h.
People living between Ayr and Mackay, including the Whitsunday Islands, have been told to seek shelter immediately.
Hamilton Island recorded a wind gust of 262km/h on Tuesday morning.
Storms have begun hitting the mainland.
