Wild weather topples truck on the Hume Freeway
Wild weather lashed the state last night, causing chaos on the roads.
Strong winds flipped a B-double truck carrying two empty trailers on the Hume Freeway between Benalla and Glenrowan at 7.30pm, resulting in the complete closure of the freeway for several hours.
The freeway remained partially closed this morning whilst the scene was completely cleared. All lanes have now been reopened.
3AW Mornings contacted the transport company who own the truck, Alvaro Transport, this morning. They declined to comment.
This isn’t the first time wild weather has seen a truck flip on the Hume Freeway. In September wind gusts toppled a truck on the freeway, near the Cragieburn East bypass.
