Truck clips power pole, dislodges car and drives off without noticing
A truck carrying eight vehicles has clipped a power pole, resulting in one of the cars becoming dislodged, and the driver took off without noticing.
Sgt Dean Pickering from Fawkner Hwy Patrol called in to tell Neil about the somewhat comical accident on Sydney Road near Fawkner Cemetary.
“This one, I’d say vaguely comical but there’s certainly a serious side to it,” he said.
“The driver has got himself down a dead end street and it’s a car carrier and there’s maybe 8-10 cars on board.
“He’s somehow clipped a power pole which has dislodged a couple of cars and hasn’t realised until he was waved down by a passer by to say you’ve got cars hanging off the side of your truck.”

“There’s big delays southbound on Sydney Road as a crane attempts to take the cars off safely,” he said.
