A truck is getting around Melbourne with a huge billboard on the back reading “CCP says vote Labor”.

It also features a picture of the Chinese President Xi Jinping casting a vote in a ballot box.

3AW listener Tony saw the truck on Chapel Street on Tuesday afternoon.

“I couldn’t believe it,” he told Neil Mitchell.

“I was stunned”.

“It’s a dirty trick, I assume, because I don’t believe the Chinese Communist Party would be out doing that,” Neil Mitchell said.

“Has somebody dressed up this billboard as a bit of anti-Labor propaganda?,” Neil Mitchell said.

On Twitter, the Australian Electoral Commission said the billboard is authorised by conservative political lobby group Advance Australia.
