Brighton truck rollover causes traffic chaos

A truck crash this morning is set to cause delays in Brighton during the evening peak.

The truck is on its side in St Kilda Street in Brighton.

It was carrying 41 tonnes of rubber when it overturned and took out powerlines.

St Kilda Street is closed at Higinbotham Street and heavy haulage will be required to clear the scene.

Witness Craig says it’s blocking two and a half lanes.

“Police are in attendance, ambulance called. The truck driver is OK,” he told Ross and Russel.

Diversions are in place. Motorists are advised to use New Street as an alternative.
