Turduckens becoming more popular at Christmas
‘Turduckens’ are reported to be flying off the shelves this Christmas.
It’s estimated that 60,000kg of the dish featuring a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey will be sold by Woolworths alone this festive season.
Tom Bouchier from Peter Bouchier Butchers told 3AW’s Nick McCallum that Turduckens have become more popular over the last four years.
Bouchier said Turduckens are a different option customers are willing to try.
‘People are trying to mix it up a bit and get three birds in one,’ he said.
Bouchier said Turduckens are slowly roasted for over two hours and are great for a large group of people.
‘It serves about 15-20 people off the one,’ he said.
