A television reporter caught in Tuesday’s racially-fuelled riots in Western Australia has described the shocking scenes.

Kalgoorlie’s indigenous community erupted on the streets while a case was being heard in court.

It follows the tragic death of an indigenous teenager.

Channel 7 reporter Monique Dirksz was there covering the story.

She was on the streets while hundreds clashed with police, throwing rocks and bottles.

‘It was extremely frightening,’ Ms Dirksz told Neil Mitchell.
