Police have confirmed they’re investigating two separate alleged hit-and-run incidents involving cyclists, which saw two people land up in hospital with serious injuries.

A 51-year-old cyclist was hit on Charman Road in Cheltenham on Tuesday morning, while a 72-year-old was also hit in Beaumaris just hours later.

“It is an appalling incident,” Victoria Police Detective Inspector Scott Dwyer told 3AW Drive.

Police later recovered an allegedly stolen Holden Astra in Black Rock, which they believed could be linked to the collisions.
