Two emergency warnings remain in place as a bushfire continues to burn out of control between Mount Cole and Raglan.

Caller Brooke, from Ballyrogan, says her husband who went up to fight fires yesterday has gone back up today as well.

“He was able to tell me from the one particular section of road he was on, there were definitely two houses gone,” she told Jacqui Felgate.

The chief executive officer of the Pyrnees City Council has spoken to 3AW Drive from the Maryborough relief centre set up for locals impacted by the fires.

Jim Nolan says there are roughly 30 locals at the centre.

“Obviously we’ve got a really active fire-front still, so a lot of people who’ve been displaced during this process … about 2000 displaced,” he said.
