Two people have been killed on our roads this morning.

An 85-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a car while crossing Bell Street in Pascoe Vale South just before 7am this morning.

Bell Street remains closed to traffic in both directions between Sydney Road and Melville Road.

It brings the pedestrian death toll this year to 28, the same number as were killed in Victoria in all of 2021.

Meanwhile, a 67-year-old man has died in Baxter after his motorbike collided with a 4WD at the intersection of Frankston-Flinders and Coolart roads just before 6am.

The driver of the 4WD stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Frankston-Flinders Road is closed at the Coolart Rd intersection.
