Two men drown during drunken swim at Redleap Reserve, Mill Park

Two men have died after going for a drunken swim in a lake at Mill Park.

The men had been drinking when they attempted to swim across the lake at Redleap Reserve around 5.30pm on Sunday.

Their friend on the shore tried to help when the pair got into trouble, but he was also affected by alcohol.

The alarm was raised with police, but it was too late.

A full scale search was then launched, with the two bodies pulled from the water between 9.30pm on 10pm.
