A man driving a stolen car has been arrested after allegedly ramming two police cars in Melbourne’s CBD at about midnight.

The 2015 BMW X6 wagon bearing stolen plates was taken during an aggravated burglary in Burwood East on Monday.

Officers spotted the vehicle on Warrigul Road in Malvern East at about 9.45pm.

They followed the vehicle through several suburbs, including Narre Warren, Rowville, Dandenong South, and Glen Waverley as the police air wing tracked it from above.

The car eventually came to the stop on Domain Road in the CBD, then allegedly rammed two police cars.

The driver, a 30-year-old Tullamarine man, is now under police guard in hospital.

A 21-year-old Collingwood woman who was a passenger in the vehicle has been released pending further enquiries.

Nobody was injured in the incident.
