Two-year-old boy in serious condition after alleged hit-run in Laverton
A two-year-old boy is in a serious but stable condition at the Royal Children’s Hospital following an alleged hit-run crash in Laverton.
The boy was hit by a grey Holden station wagon on Railway Avenue in Laverton about 9pm last night.
Police say the two-year-old slipped out of his house, his parents realised after a few minutes and rushed outside to find the little boy on the street, where he was allegedly struck by a car.
The driver did not stop to render assistance.
Witnesses ran to the two-year old’s aid.
The boy was taken to hospital where his condition was upgraded to critical, but thankfully it has since been revised to serious but stable.
Police found the vehicle involved a short distance away from the crash scene and have arrested a 21-year-old man, believed to be the driver.
He’s been charged.
