Uber driver hospitalised after violent Mornington Peninsula attack
An Uber driver has been hospitalised after a nasty Mornington Peninsula attack overnight.
Leo was called to pick up a woman who was leaving her partner. As he helped the passenger load boxes into the Uber, the woman’s partner woke up and came outside “carrying on”, before getting in his car and following the Uber, passing the vehicle at high-speed on the Nepean Highway several times before disappearing.
“We continued on to the storage place in Frankston, get in the gate, gate closes — two metres high — and then he shows up and he just carries on,” Leo told Ross and Russel.
“He jumps over the fence, attacks me, hits me twice.
“I hit my chin on a bar, like a railing, and also my throat.”
Leo required treatment at Frankston Hospital. He has now been discharged.
