Uber driver successfully appeals court conviction in Victoria

MML

An Uber driver who appealed a conviction for operating a commercial passenger vehicle without a licence has won.

Nathan Brenner appealed against his conviction in the Victorian County Court.

Today, the court has also awarded him costs.

The State Opposition says the Andrews’ Government has wasted hundreds of thousands of taxpayers’ money fighting the driver.

The decision dismisses a decision which effectively ruled the controversial ride-sharing service illegal in Victoria.
