Uber Eats delivery rider in critical condition after allegedly being hit by van in St Kilda

An Uber rider is fighting for life after he was knocked off his bike in St Kilda overnight.

It’s believed the motorcyclist was completing an Uber Eats delivery when he collided with a van near the corner of Fitzroy Street and Lakeside Drive at about 7.30 last night.

The man, aged in his 20s, was taken to the Alfred Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

He is in a critical condition.

A man behind the wheel of the vehicle stopped and is being questioned by detectives.

Police are looking to speak to witnesses to help piece together exactly what happened.
